Hi everyone! Last year my mom told me she wanted to make a quilt! Yeah!!! Now my mother is an organizer, a very good cook, a home decorator, a business woman, a wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. But has never been a quilter. Well, this grand Lady has now made two quilts. go Mom!!!
We talked a lot about color and what she wanted. hmmmmm, Kansas troubles fabric came to mind. I thought I would have enough fabric for the top. We did have to buy a few fabrics to supplement what i had. We also had to buy the batting and backing. everything else from the stash.
I found the pattern - I think in a McCall's magazine. it is a modified wedding ring. It ended up being 82"sq. so about 11 1/8 yards used. pretty good.
My Dad and I cut the fabric. Mom sewed. I did very little sewing there. she also sewed the rows together. My friend Joann quilted it for us. This past weekend I did the binding. her 2nd quilt is at the quilter now. She has done a great job on both!
I am claiming this as an UFO finish. because done is done! it's out of my house and stashed used.
Isn't it pretty? I love it!
Oh, I like this quilt too. I just acquired some white eyelet scraps from my mom that might be perfect for the centers. I guess I have another quilt to add to my wish list.
