What I can do in a month!

Back in November I decided to make a real effort to work on my redwork. I only worked on it at night, when I waited any where and while we were driving on our trip! while visiting our daughter, Julia - our granddaughter wanted to help me. this is the block she made! This is what I got done in one month! wow! that really made me feel good!
enjoy....

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving this year. lots of wonderful and yummy food. I made yummy Brussels sprouts and a homemade pumpkin pie. I will share the recipes later. everything turned out. food was on time. Yeah!

I played a game with the little ones. not sure what it is called. I just call it the chocolate die game. here is how it works. the first person puts on a pair of socks on their hands. they are given a Hershey bar, a knife, plate and a fork. they have to open the chocolate bar and cut the bar with the knife and eat it with the fork. the 2nd person rolls the dice until they get a double. at that time, everything goes to that person and the die goes to the 3rd person. so on and so forth. we played this game when the kids where little. lots of laughs. our little gunner man wasn't interested in the die or waiting for his turn. he wanted the chocolate NOW! maybe next year he will be more interested in sharing and waiting for his turn.

here he is with his mouth full.
Lexi and Zoe had lots of fun. It didn't take long for Zoe to catch on and really get into the game.
another thing we played was the white elephant game. but it wasn't white elephants, it was with quilts! here were the rules. the grandparents were given their quilts. You could not steal their quilts. everyone drew numbers and they got to pick in order. Picking another quilt instead of a bag was OK. NOBODY stole any quilt. everyone picked a bag. I was surprised. And another funny thing. as I sewed, bound, and put them in the bags, I would think I think my aunt would like this one, or my sister that one or my daughter this one. for the most part, everyone got the quilt I thought they should receive.
This quilt was for my parents. When I was making this one, my Uncle De has passed away. I kept thinking this should be for my dad and mom. (it was his last surviving brother) I kind of thought about our loved one who has passed on and they are watching us from above. This is the quilt that my mother has wanted for quite awhile! now it is theirs.

This quilt is for my MIL, Grandma Carnes. love the blue in it. sooooo pretty....

Here is the group shot! all happy faces. I am so glad. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Love you all.......

Redwork time again

I love redwork club. I know I have said it every time. but these ladies are soooooo talented. I just love show and tell..... we are very loose in redwork club. it doesn't have to be redwork to bring and show everyone. we love to see EVERYTHING!!!! we do have a projects. oh, we are going to start a new project in January. it will be a BOM kitted, I think. it is Christmas Birdhouses. really cute!!!
anyway, Pam brought a quilt that her mother started. Pam worked on it a bit and then gave it to her sister who finished then had it quilted. it was soooo beautiful. her sister has a journal that everyone writes in when they sleep under the quilt. once everyone has slept under the quilt there will be a drawing to see who gets the quilt. what a treasure! Pam also finished a halloween quilt. love it!
and a food quilt. really cute!
Marty was busy too! here are her reindeer dishtowels.....

and two blocks from her winter wonderland...... she is using all different colors of floss

Margie made a new quilt for her bed.......

Cyndi finished an UFO! way to go Cyndi!

Juliet bag class

Recently I taught the Juliet bag - me and my sister. love how the bags turned out. you gals did a super good!
I am soooo sorry, but I don't remember this ladies name. I love red and I love this red purse. Cindy O made this fall one. mine looks so springy and this one is so very different from mine. well they all are. isn't it amazing you can make the same thing as everyone and yours will look so different because of the fabric choices. good job Cindy!
this is Linda M from Canada! she is making her mother a series of different bags for her mother. with all with the same fabric. she also made the cuff much wider because she was using a border fabric. Linda is not afraid to experiment. me? I have to follow the pattern.

anyway, it was a great class because of the fun ladies! thank you!!!
