A big Day for Andrew!

Hi everyone!  recently our grandson, Andrew decided he wanted to be baptized.  We are so excited for him!

the night before he was baptized Bruce, Grandma Carnes and I went over to see him.

We gave him a quilt!

Here is Andrew trying to fold up his quilt.  Hudson wanted to play, lay, and cuddle with it.  The other pictures I took of the quilt, well, they were just too dark.

I have been looking on pinterest for some baptism ideas for our grands.  we have 2 more coming up soon and Gunner is next year.  I wanted to find something special.

I found this idea for a towel.  to dry off after they are baptized.  I loved it.  1 down, 2 more to go!

Here is our young man!

Here is Uncle David holding Hudson, Andrews little brother.

And Melissa, Glen (proud parents) and Andrew.

there were so many people there.  I can't believe I didn't get more pictures.  lots of family, friends, scouts, there was a good turn out.  Andrew felt very loved.

We love you Andrew!!!

3 White Dresses

Sometime ago, there was a conference talk about 3 white dresses a girl/woman will wear.  I will have to research it to see who talked about it first.  Anyway, the first white dress is when a baby is blessed and given a name.  2nd white dress is at age 8, when we are baptized.  and the 3rd is at our wedding.

Well our Zoe girl has turned 8 and will be baptized soon.  in our once a month evening Relief Society meeting this month, was our Mother/ Daughter themed meeting.  The theme this year was 3 White dresses.  they had several wedding dresses displayed.  some baptism dresses. and several  blessing dresses.  One was 122 years old!  it was beautiful.  I am so sorry I didn't get any pictures.

Zoe came with Grandma Carnes and I.  it was a fun night.

Zoe made this picture of the Mesa Temple with a poem on vellum on the top.  she was so proud of herself.  I accidently deleted the picture.  So for the record, She had a big smile on her face.

We had sundaes for dessert.  Yummy!  It was a very nice night.  Thank you Zoe for coming with us.  Love you Zoe girl!

World wide conference

Hi everybody.  Last weekend we had the privilege of listening to conference.  I Love conference!  We get to listen to our Prophet, President Monson.  And listen to the Mormon Tabernacle choir sing.  my goodness, they can sing!  by now you should be able to listen, watch or read all the talks - HERE .

When our kids were little, we would stay in our PJs and lay around and listen to conference on channel 5.  in between sessions - there is 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday - we would fix pancakes and have brunch.  I have fond memories.....

We haven't had a get together for a while, so we had brunch in between Sundays conference.

Jenn and her family came - bummer no pictures of them....  Lee and Zoe and Melissa and her family.  Melissa found some bingo conference sheets.  I am sure she found them on pinterest.

She told the kids they had to listen  and every time a word was mentioned - like Jesus, testimony, temples etc.... they could color it in.

Zoe won. the kids were so good in listening and so excited when they heard a word they could color in.

So, before conference started we had waffles!  I used a mix of Krusteaz Waffle mix. they were very good.  I wanted to make the same kind of waffles that Waffle Love .  I found several recipes that sounded pretty good.  Only problem was I could not find pearl sugar.  I did find it at Amazon , but it wouldn't arrive in time.  I had no luck finding it local.  So I will order it and try it later.  We had all kind of toppings!  Strawberries, blackberries, nutella, biscoff spread, whipped cream, and homemade buttermilk syrup.  And bacon, lots of bacon.

Those are mini chocolate chips in the bowl.  we sprinkled them on the batter before they cooked for some of them.

I also tried using the cinnamon rolls that come in a tube.  I put them in the  waffle iron.

This was only picture I got of them.  as soon as they were done, they were gone!  Most everyone loved them.  Me?  I don't like cinnamon rolls.  so didn't even taste them.  gunner either.  but everyone else loved them.

I was so thankful that we had everyone over to just be together and visit and share conference together.  It was a very nice day!

Company!

Hi everyone!  last weekend, we had a couple of Bruce's cousins's daughters come to spend the night.  they came from Salt Lake City.

Analise and Jennifer

Analise served a mission for our Church in LA.  she has been home about 7 weeks. She served with a young man from here.  He has been home about a week and was talking in his ward during Sacrament Meeting.  Analise  and Jennifer came to show support!

They are really happy, sweet girls.  We enjoyed them coming, even though the visit was short.  After dinner we took the girls to see the Gilbert Temple.  The lights are on and it is beautiful!  the open house will be starting in January!
