Sewing with Friends!

Hi everyone!  I have such nice friends.  Who like to sew.  Who like to sew with each other.  Who make me laugh.  thank you!

We went to Toni's.  Remember Toni has the minature ponies?  I have shown Ariel before.  She is a little bigger.  Still so darn cute.  she was on the other side of the yard when I went outside.  I called her, and she came running over to me!  Oh my gosh!  She started to nibble on my white jeans - ah no sweetie.  so she nibbled on my pink shirt. ah no again sweetie.  so I petted her and she was a happy girl!  I think she is still looking for something to nibble!

Mardi is making the quilt from this book, on a black background.  BLESS HER HEART!!!!  LOL.....

And these are Mardi's blocks.  Mardi is a perfectionist when it comes to her quilting and she has the ribbons to prove.  Her quilts are always perfection.  I love to just study them.  It will be fun to see how this quilt grows.

We even got to go into Dave's man cave!  he is a vendor.  so what ever you would find in a vending machine, Dave has it.  We found a couple of goodies.  Thanks Dave!
Now Lil Missy is only 3 pounds.  and I love her.  she is the sweetest little dog in the world.  Our friend Charlene, who lives in one of the Carolinas, loves Lil Missy too.  she sends her goodies all the time.  While we were there and package arrived for Missy, but addressed to Toni!  In the package were cute stuff for this little sweetie.  Look what she received!

A ladybug outfit!  OH! MY! GOSH!  How cute is that?  She just sat in Toni's lap while Toni dressed her.  I forgot to take pics of the other outfits.  Sorry.  but they were darn cute too.
I was able to finish block 6.  Forget pieces for 5.  and almost finished 7!
This is Cyndi's patriotic blocks.  She had 2 done from her quilting cruise and finished this and another one too.  She also finished the last block from another project from the cruise.  She is cranking them out.

Thanks gals for a fun day.  Toni, you have raised the bar!  LOL.....

Easter Pagent Time!

Hi everyone!  Here in AZ where I live is the largest Easter pageant in the world.  How lucky we are.  It is at the Mesa Temple.  I remember going to it on Sunday morning.  EARLY - like 5AM early!  it was one day only.  performed as the sun was rising. It was very moving.  but things change, and change is good.  Now it is 2 weeks.  there is beautiful music,  dancing and real animals!

The cast visit with the audience before the performance.  the costumes are wonderful.

The sun was going down, so you can see most of the stage.  still early.
We got there about 5:30 and was able to park fairly close.  Yeah!  Every time I tried to take a pic of Hudson he was jumping up and down.  This is as good as it gets for him!  Love that little guy....
Hubby has been out of town and the kids kept me busy.  thanks kids!  this is Lee and I.  our oldest.  and in his own words "the best!"
Gunner, Andrew and Zoe.  Melissa and Glen brought pizza and we had a picnic.  the weather was perfect!  LOVE AZ in the spring!  perfect.....

The pageant was beautiful and moving.  so lucky to be able to watch and set the tone for part of our Easter celebration!

UFO. Done!

hey everyone!  I have another UFO finished.  Yeah me!

 this is #8 of 12.  20 x 27. I used 1 3/8 yards of stash.  nothing was bought.
i have a few more to quilt.  the tops are all done.  I just love changing out my quilts every month.

Last night i was watching Dancing with the Stars and Castle.  I made my 2nd hexie.  this picture was taken with smellavison.  can you smell the orange blossoms?  nothing better!  anyway, this one didn't take as long as the first.  no mistakes.  i think I am in love......

this makes 22 finishes so far this year!  That's pretty good.  I want to try for one more finish this month.  Probably another wall hanging.

Oh Sweet Williams

I slept under several quilts, little squirrels running around, a crazy woodpecker, pecking on a metal roof - rat a tat tat.....  life is good.....

Vicki invited up to Williams to spend the week with her.  Could I come?  hmmmmm, YES!!!!!  So, I packed and was gone.  Just before the turn off to Williams.  Just before Flagstaff.  ahhhhh, snow!  soooo pretty....

I didn't get done everything I brought.  LOL....  I brought WAAAAYYYYY  too much stuff.  but I was good and we bought kept plugging along.  sew, sew, sew, eat, sew, sew, sleep, eat, sew, sew,sew..... etc.....

Last year Vicki and I traded socks.  I also traded in my Thornberries group.  they were just fused down.  we had to do the stitching ourselves.  I now have 10 small socks done.  LOTS more to do.....

Vicki is making 144 patch blocks.  this is her first one.  And yes, I am tempted!

I gave Vicki her own carrot.  I finished it up there.

Then I started 2 more.  ran out of strips.  darn.  I didn't bring enough!

Block 4 is done.  8 more to do.....

We made bobbin necklaces.... fun!

I finished this block for my Halloween BOM.  3 more blocks to do.

I made guacamole.  no bowls, so we used a large Ziploc bag and squished and squished.  Yummy!

I finished my reindeer blocks for a Amy Bradley swap I am in.  the blocks are traded out and will go to their owners this week.

Vicki found this pattern online somewhere.  I will try to get more info on this.  She is calling this quilt  - Transition - she had all the 2.5 " strips cut of Coquette by Chez for Moda.  the Black was the yummiest Black!  oh boy.  it's essential by Danhui Nai for Wilmington Prints.  I have been online looking for more of this black.  love it.  anyway, we both have all our blocks done. Now to do the sashing in black.  I am thinking I might try minkie for the back.  What do you think Toni?  LOL......
I also finished quilting March,
April,

and May!  all finished quilted and bound.  all UFOs.

Vicki and I have been playing around with Hexies.  we really want a grandmothers flower garden quilt.  I cut out paper hexagons with my cricket a year or so ago.  I liked doing it that way.  Vicki didn't.  she didn't like the paper.  so she has been hunting.  hexagon stamp   Cindy Blackberg has lots of different stamps to stamp the fabric, then cut and sew without any paper.  I kind of like it.  Vicki promised everytime I finish a hexie, she will stamp another one for me!  yeah!  I was able to finish the block rather quickly.  I did have to unpick a bit.  but I wasn't discouraged.  it looked a little funky when I finished.  no pic, sorry.  but I pressed, and oh my gosh!  it's beautiful.  it's a nice size too.  maybe 6" across?  I will have to measure.
Another Vicki project.  a year or so ago, Vicki prepped this for the both of us.  her top done.  Mine, well, the blocks are not sewn together yet.... sigh.... I will get it done, promise!

I think that is it.  so you see, we did work hard.  Thank you Vicki, for sharing your mountain home with me.  And thanks Ron for dinner and treats!  you are a sweetie for sure.

hugs
