Then off we went to La Grande Orange Grocery OH MY GOSH!!! talk about yummy! They have breakfast, lunch and pizza! they start cooking the pizza at 4PM.
I had a Reuben. One of my fave sandwiches. This one was beyond good. The meat was shaved extremely thin. The coleslaw had a good crunch. Lots of homemade 1000 island dressing. it was an extremely messy sandwich to eat. But I persevered and did my best!
Toni had the bacon avocado with bacon sandwich.  She let me have a little bit.  Oh boy, it was yummy too.  She also ordered the potatoes.  We sat and tried to figure out how the potatoes were made.  I think they baked them, then sliced them really thick.  at least 1 1/2" thick.  then browned them.  yummy.  crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  then served with sour cream.  next I make potatoes, I am going to try and duplicate.  I bought some English muffins to take home for Bruce and 2 giant ho hos.  but they are gone and did not get pics of them.  Toni shared a chocolate chip cookie - giant size, with me.  it had a sprinkling of sea salt on the top.  heaven.  So worth another trip to go back.
I think we talked and laughed all day. we missed you Cyndi!
hugs.....

you are making me hungry, Lorene! How did you know that I had reuben makings on my grocery list?? If I didn't before now, then I would be adding them after seeing that sandwich. I love 'em a bit more than my husband but that's okay.
ReplyDeleteToo funny, my friend Ana and I had lunch there this week too. She got the Rubin and said it was the best she ever had!
