My trip to Williams

I know I said I wouldn't share pictures of what Vicki and I worked on while in Williams, but I can show other pictures!

Do you ever prepare for an event or trip, and then forget things on the list?  hmmmmm......  I do.  I always seem to forget something.  Always.  I try so very hard to write out my list, check off items and then still forget something(s).

This time I remembered all the stuff for our projects.  What did I forget?  my medication I take daily.  My blow dryer.  My brush I use when I blow dry my hair.  most of my make up.  do you see a pattern here!  what was the most important things to pack?  I am lucky I remembered to bring PJs!

Anyway,  here is what the table looked like when I arrived!

Lots of glow in the dark things.  Chocolate.  Candy Corn.  lots of wonderful things.

glow in the dark bugs on my sewing chair.  Glow in the dark spiders under my bed.  And glow in the dark eyes in the bathroom!

Remember all the stuff I forgot?  Well, #1 son was coming to Flagstaff to do inventories.  Williams is 40 miles away.  So this good son brought my forgotten things.  Thank you Lee!  You are a sweetie!

And thank you Vicki for hosting our Wicked adventure!  Thank you for taking such good care of me.  My whole mantra while there..... Please Vicki, don't get sick!  Please Vicki, don't get sick!

hugs....

Aaaaahhhhhh, cool mountain air!

Hi everyone!  I have spent the week in Williams, AZ.  It was cool.  Cool enough for me to have several quilts on the bed and wool socks on my feet!  I spent the week with Vicki.  We were madly working on fun Halloween projects!  for the Wicked bloghop in October.  we had a wicked good time.  there was only a couple of slight problems.  I. Got. Sick.......  sigh......  what a bummer.

we did manage to get a few things done.  didn't get as many pictures as I hoped.  But Vicki was a wonderful hostess and took good care of me.  I just hope she doesn't get sick......

I left yesterday, on my way towards Flagstaff, this is what I saw:

This is September 27th.  about 10AM in the morning.  In AZ.  In September. Sorry, I already said that.  that white stuff is SNOW!!!!!  Don't get me wrong.  It snows here.  Elevation is about 7000 ft  in this area.  But September?  In AZ? Mercy, does that mean it's going to be a cold winter?

It was a treat to see.  It's always a treat to see mountains, pines and snow all at the same time!

So I won't be sharing any pictures of the projects.  You have to wait till the end of October.  Sorry.  But it will be soooo worth it.

BTW, on the way home I called my Dr.  I got to drop by to see him on the way home.  Strep, double ear infections and Bronchitis.....  sigh......  I have the mother lode.  How old am I?  You do remember I am only 29, right?  LOL......

Hubby is taking good care of me.  the cats are nearby in case they are needed.  I have a quilt to keep me warm.  and some hot soup and hot herbal tea.  oh yeah, life is good.....

hugs...

I love being a girl!

today was a wonderful day - I got a pedicure and manicure. ahhhhhhhhhh, so very nice. having that done, makes me feel pampered and beautiful! happy, happy...... I would love to do that once a week - at least. LOL! My friend Vicki and I didn't get to get together this summer. that makes me sad. we always get so much done when we have our retreats. so this year we decided that we would pick a day and pick 2 projects and sew. the thing is, we have about 6 projects to do. the first 2 projects we picked was a red and black quilt. Abundance is the pattern. Vicki provided the 10" red squares. I provided the black, red ric rak, and border. the other is a Patrick lose haunted house/birthday table runner. Now the deal is, we have to finish these 2 projects as in finish the top, quilt and bind it. well, I have the abundance top done. I LOVE IT!!!!

Here is a close up of the flower and ric rak. isn't just darn cute?
and here is the top! Yeah!!! Vicki, isn't it wonderful? just the way I envisioned it! now, what color of thread do I use? how shall I quilt it? what should I get for a backing? I want it finished yesterday. I really, really love this quilt.

thank you Vicki for going with my zany ideas!
hugs......

PS I love you and a UFO done!

for several years my friend Vicki and I get together for our own quilt retreat. this year we met up in Lake Havasu at her son in laws home. we had it all to ourselves and sewed our little hearts out! This was one of our projects. a Christmas quilt from Mc Calls mag. (I think!) anyway, I did the trees, Vicki did the red blocks. she bought the borders. we finished the top while at the retreat. I got it back from the quilter (Joann - Gecko quilts) last month. today I watched PS I love you and finished the binding. LOVE that movie. makes me cry every time. So this is #4! this month. thanks Vicki and Joann for helping start and finish projects. LOL!

quilt retreat 3

One day we went shop hopping with friends...This is Jon Ali quilt store - very nice!

this is from Material Girl, across the street. It wasn't a real quilt store. She had LOTS of textural type of fabrics. she sells lots of her things on Etsy. this bassinet fabric was skull and crossbones. I can't imagine a baby sleeping in this, but it was cute!!!!

this was a treat to see the sunset, when we looked at the window! Absolutely beautiful!!!

This is Donna, Vicki, a lady standing guard, Marian and myself at Sew What! Big sale, so we found a few things.....
