Lovely Purses

Hi everyone!  do you love purses?  I do.  purses, shoes.  Oh they make my heart beat a little faster.....

While my daughter Katrina was here, her friend took her to Turnstyle  I had never heard of it.  they are located in AZ, CO, and MN.  yeah!!!  Katrina bought a Vera Wang leather purse I wanted sooooo bad!  She took it home with her.  sigh......

Well, I was going by one of the shops the other day.  And I thought, well, maybe I could find a treasure there.

this is a Big Buddha purse.  Oh my!

this one is from the Gap and it's pink.  so it just  jumped into my hands. it has cherries in the lining.

You will never guess what I paid for both purses.  are you ready?  I paid $12. 89 for BOTH purses!!!!  I was a happy girl!

No finishes this week, but I did work on some things!

Vicki found this bunny tablerunner on the internet somewhere.  we picked a day, and we both worked on it.  Vicki in Vegas and me here.  This picture showed the Bunny without binding and a tail.  She is finished and has a tail now!  I figured I used about 1 yard of fabric.

This is my tumbler quilt.  I have the 6th row almost done.  only 12 more rows to go!

I love reading blogs!  I get so many great ideas.  well on Quilt Taffy I found the cutest picnic quilt.  I have one more row and the top will be done.  the red squares are 2.5"  and the large half square triangles ended up being 21" sq.  I had sent Vicki the link for the blog.  I wanted her to see this quilt.  well, a day or two later another friend called and said she had some fabric she wanted to give me.  I went over to Adele's home.  she had 2 large pieces of denim!  one was light blue and the other was dark blue.  I called Vicki and told her the quilt was meant to be.  She said she she would get some red squares for us.  She got busy and cut so many!  Thanks Vicki!!!  when we were in Vegas Vicki gave me some red charms.  while at a quilt store there, I found some more cute reds and bought FQs for us to share.

I think we are about the same place.  later today, I will add the last row!  Not a UFO, but still darn cute!  Thanks Quilt Taffy for the inspiration!

My biggest accomplishment for this week is, the quilt that my mother made is FINISHED!  yeah!!!!  it finished at 101 x 102.  we used 17 yards from stash.  oh yeah!  Mom started this last summer.  all the squares were precut from my scraps.  I love using up my scraps.  I think mom is giving this one to my sister.  lucky gal!  Mom did a great job.  I did the binding for her.

Didn't she do a great job!  She is working on 2 quilts tops now.  2!  Amazing!!!

I finished the step right up blocks, for a swap.  no pictures.  36 blocks

I finished another swap of apple blocks, no pictures.  16 blocks.

Oh, and I have 4 rows of 17 done on my large tumbler 30s  quilt.  Vicki's is finished!  a while ago.  like maybe last year......  no picture yet.  I promise one next week.

Becoming a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints!

Hi everyone!  One of the reasons Trina came for a visit was, Zoe's baptism.  Zoe was so excited to have so many people who love her at her baptism.

Here is Zoe and her Daddy - Lee our son.  Big day for both of them.  It was such a special day.  Bruce gave the talk on baptism and I gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.  It was during the talk I gave Zoe her quilt.  Because the Holy Ghost is also called Comforter!  All the family participated in one way or another to make the day special.

See that chandelier?  My friend Mardi was doing some remodeling and gave me this so I could make it into a cupcake holder!  Thank you pinterest!!!!  AND thank you Mardi!!!!

everyone getting ready.....

Her Aunt Jenn and Uncle David made the Zoe sign.  David makes these signs all the time.  Aunt Trina made the 8 is great  sign.

And our Zoe being funny!  Love you sweetie!!!

I squared up my Mom's quilt and put the binding on.  The hand part isn't done, but will be included in next weeks report.    It's a biggie!  It was started last summer.  I was getting the quilt ready to square up and Miss Priss wanted to tunnel in!  Deisel is watching......

Pretty Nails

Hi everyone!  The other day Jenn, Demi, Julia and Lexi went for pedicures and nails.  Trina and I were doing something else.  When everyone came back, This is what Lexi had done......

She was so excited to show me.  Oh my, I think I might have influenced her a bit!  for the good, definitely!!!  Lexi is in the process of earning a sewing machine.  I have a little brother machine, and once a week she comes over to help me do stuff.  Such as, straighten my fabric shelves, put away fabric, use the go cutter to cut scraps, etc, etc....  She needs a total of 25 hours.  She is about 1/3 of the way there.

She works for me in the morning and in the afternoon, she gets to know her machine.  Last time she came we cleaned the machine.  Lexi is a very detailed type of person, so the machine got a really good cleaning.

Lexi has an older brother, Justin, who she loves very much.  she wanted to make a pillowcase for him for his birthday that is coming up.  Well, I hate to admit it, but I bought some drum fabric with the idea of making a pillowcase for Justin.  like a couple of years ago..... bad grandma.  At least I had it for Lexi to use.

oops!  Lexi got to use the serger AND her machine.  I thought I took a picture of her with her machine, but no....  oops!

she is thrilled, Mom was thrilled and I am sure brother will be too!
