A llittle crocheting

I brought up a little loom for maddy to knit some stuff.  Well, the loom is smarter than Grandma.  couldn't figure it out!!!  sigh.....

But all is not lost.  the loom set came with a crochet hook.  Maddy wanted a blanket, scarf, and hat for her Babie doll.

And there you go!

Hump Day

Hi everyone!  this young man is serving a mission for our church.

we are so very proud of him.  He is a great example to all of his siblings and cousins.

He is in the great state of Washington.  In fact I think he is in Spokane right now.

He has been out for 1 year!!!  how did that happen?  the time has gone so swiftly.  He has one more year to go.

love you sweetie......

Gunner is sewing!

Before I left Gunner wanted to make a cover for his Kindle.  HE wanted to make it with just a little help from Grandma.

so we made a deal.  he had to vaccum for me and we would go and find some Batman fabric.  He LOVES Batman.

While at Joann's he told everyone he was going to make a cover for his kindle, and that Batman was his fav and his Grandpa's name is Bruce Wayne.  He was pretty excited.

He quilted.....  I trimmed

He was pretty excited about how the sewing machine worked.  We did a vertical and horizontal grid.  He did really well sewing straight.  I turned the speed waaayyyyy down.

I did the binding and sewing on the Velcro.

No Stash Report

Hi everyone,  not much sewing around here right now.  We have been celebrating our anniversary - more on that later.

but for now, I am leaving to go to Idaho to meet this little guy!

I will be posting fun things while I am gone.  a little of this and a little of that.  but probably not much about quilting.  But about more important stuff - family!

Stash Report 24

Hi everyone,  I have been up to visit my parents.  Mom and I sewed up a storm.

Bobbins used this week: 8
Bobbins used year to date: 55
Thread spools emptied this week:1
Thread spools emptied year to date: 14
Fabric used this week: 0
Fabric used year to date: 44.75 yards
Fabric added: 7 yard
Fabric year to date:  32 yards

It was sooo beautiful up in the cool mountains.  a couple of days it was cold enough to turn the heat on and not be on the porch to sew!  so hand work was done and old movies.

Twas the night before Christmas stitchery.  I finished 5 blocks.  I am working on the large one now.  the last block!  yeah!!!!

I finished this top - Aunt Edna's.  The pattern is from a quilt store that recently closed.  In my Thornberries group we traded the 16 patches, oh, a, several years ago!  maybe 6 or 7 years, maybe more!

It has one more butter yellow border.  then I think I will add a wider red print border and scallop it!  What do you think?

My mom put together this top - a Baby Genius kit my friend mardi gave me.  My brother Ron and his wife are expecting.  We are so happy for them!  Mom had so much fun sewing this.  Thanks mardi!

I put the borders on the rose quilt top.

That's my Dad's shadow you see!  thank Dad....

I worked on my 9 patches and Arkanas Crossroads blocks.  Just did more!

I enjoyed my time with my parents.  It's a little piece of heaven....
