Do you?

do any of you watch Pioneer Woman?  Do you have any of her cookbooks?  I do to both!  love her.  her recipes are always spot on and soooooo yummy!  have you noticed her measuring spoons and measuring cups?

Well Bruce has been so sweet in getting me a couple of sets.  I just love them. My mom and I was shopping the other day.  we went to Beall's Outlet - have you been there?  I think they are only in the southern states.  Guess what I found?  measuring cups!!!

Aren't they cute?  only $5.99 - WOW!!!  great price!

and then we went to Home Goods.  Have you been there?  I never have.  Oh my heart be still.....  loved the store.  and what did I find there?  Measuring cups!

I think these were $7.99.  Great price.  Now I need to figure out how to display them so I can use them.  they are too pretty to hide away.  Now, remember I said my mom was with me.  did she find anything?  No.  Sorry Mom.  But we had fun anyways.  Thanks Mom for a fun shopping trip.

Last Day of our All About Me Blog Hop

We made it through!  Last day of hopping!

My Turn! My Turn! My Turn for All About Me! And a give away!

Hi everyone!  This blog hop has been so much fun!  so many talented quilter's out there.  And now it's my turn!  Yeah!  I have been going back and forth, up and down, and all around on what I want to say about me!  hmmmmm......
First off I have been married to my best friend for almost 38 years.  My goodness!  We have 5 great kids and I have the best daughter in law in the world and 3 wonderful son in laws!  AND, 20 awesome grands!  I love being a grandmother.  Hmmmm, lots of exclamation points.  Do you think I am excited and passionate?  LOL......

I love the color pink; red is next.  My sewing room is pink; my safe haven; my creative spot.  I love wool socks.  My sweet friend Mardi knits them for me.  I have two pair.  I am trying to figure out how I can get her to make me another pair.  I will do almost anything for more wool socks!  Now you are probably thinking - This lady lives in AZ!  it's the desert!  Well, fellow bloggers, I get cold.  it's has hit freezing here this winter.  Don't laugh!  I am a desert rat and this is cold for me!  I sleep with 3 quilts on my bed, lol.....  My hubby sleeps with a sheet....  Here is what it looked like on Wednesday here:

This is 10 miles from my home!  See it does get cold here!

This picture shows several favs for me!  My scissors - thread clips and a 5" pair of scissors.  Both Ginghers; love my scissors.  Next you see a seam ripper from my dear friend Cydni.  it's pretty, it's pink and it gets used, a lot......
Oh and one of my best friends!  My Bernina, love my machine!  It makes me feel like a better sewer.  A better quilter; just better!

Another favorite - my pink glasses!  Love them!  Plus a little bling.  What girl doesn't need a little bling in her life!

A story - a few years ago I worked here.  We had a contest.  We used a pattern from Amy Bradley
Also the designer for our Blog Hop theme.  Well, we had to make a face representing ourselves.  The customers had to guess who was who.  So the above quilt is a younger me!  LOL!

So now here is the OLDER me, MUCH, MUCH, older me!  Even though I had a milestone birthday recently, this new quilt is far, far, far in the future.

I had so much fun making this little quilt.  I used my favorite 30's fabric - all from stash.  I used muslin for the center.  I LOVE using muslin.  I had to add pearls.  I love pearls.  I have 5 different strands of pearls.  I just love them.  A little bling here and there.  And of course a scalloped border.  ahhhhh, love it.

Well, you now know a few things that make me happy.  So thrilled you stopped by.  Thank you Madam Samm for together putting this very interesting blog hop. And thanks to Marlene
for keeping us on our toes and keeping us updated.  This has been a really fun experience for my first time.  And a super BIG thanks to Amy Bradley for providing the pattern!

****I just found out that my links were not working earlier.  So sorry!  please go to Madam Samm or Marlene's blogs to get the earlier links.  you don't want to miss any of the earlier quilts.  They have been GREAT!

OK, now for the give away!  My very first give away!  I love to find labels.  Pretty, interesting labels.  Well, I hit the jackpot!  PINK labels!  Oh my heart be still.....

This photo only shows half the panel.  So there is about 18 labels.  They are sooo pretty.  Now all you have to do is leave a comment.  if you would like to follow that will be an extra entry.  Be sure to leave an extra comment to let me know you are following me.  I will have the drawing on Friday, March 1.

Now, here are the rest of the ladies for today.  Be sure and check them out!

Redwork time!

Hey, hey, hey!  Friday was Red work Club.  Love Red work!  when we have show and tell, anything goes.  Isn't it fun to see what everyone does?
Arlene (not pictured) finished this quilt.  I think it is a Crab apple hill pattern.  She used crayons to add color.  Love it!  be sure to click on the picture to enlarge it.

Some of the ladies and I are doing a swap of Amy Bradley Christmas pattern.  We provided on own backgrounds, then we each picked a character from the pattern.  there are 9 characters.  Oh, and no sewing.  we each will do our own machine applique.  these are Eleanor's gingerbread men.
Cyndi is making pillowcases. Another friend is making pillow cases for Mayo clinic. you can read about it HERE
Its a great cause.  So if you can help, it will be appreciated!  thanks!

Margie is making hexies!  I think they about 3".
 Jancye made her January block.
 Jeanne has a new bag!
Now, Jeanne did her February block.  but she double stitched using red and blue.  LOVE THIS!  great idea!  be sure to click on the pic to get a better look.
Margie is in the swap I talked about.  She has the polar bear.  Aren't they just darn cute?
Susan is a brand new grandma for the first time.  love hearing about her sweet baby girl.  here is a bib and burp cloth just in time for St. Pats.

This is another Susan.  she did all the quilting on her Bernina!  She used Sharon Shambers technique for applique  and there is some embroidery on the flowers.  This quilt is stunning.  I could just sit and look and look.  Beautiful job Susan!
and now back to the other Susan.  She already has her March block done!
OK, back again to the other Susan.  Sorry about that.  This is a wall hanging for her mom's door.  It's soooo pretty.
thanks ladies for such a fun meeting!  You always make my day!

hugs

My Special Valentine Day

Hi everyone!  did you have a nice Valentines?  I did.  It was different in how we celebrated, but Bruce always finds ways to make anything special for me.  Thank you sweetie!

Do you watch or follow Pioneer woman?  I have one of her cookbooks.  I would love to have more, hint hint!  she always uses fun, pretty, unique measuring cups and spoons.  I have stainless steel, white plastic, and black plastic measuring cups and spoons.  functional ones.  I want pretty ones!  so for Christmas gave me owl measuring cups and spoons.  they remind me of my grandmother.  they make me smile...  so for valentines Bruce gave me a set of cute, fat, and sassy cat measuring cups!  do you see the ball of yarn in the smallest cup?  so cute!  I love them!

And red tulips.  I have never received red tulips before.  they are beautiful.  the white tulips are from my Canadian friend Linda.  they are so pretty together.
And of course chocolate.  sigh..... yum......  and they are NOT almost gone.  I am pacing myself!  LOL......

Now, I have a husband, 2 sons and 3 sons in law who love to shoot.  they all go and shoot together.  they have a ball.  My only rule - they all come back unharmed!  LOL.....  Well, I few months ago I found a Groupon for some time at a shooting range.  I thought Bruce would love it.  He was excited.  Well, time got the best of us.  It just never seem to work out.  It was to expire on Valentines Day..... so we went shooting.  I haven't been shooting for probably 30 + years.  Mercy!
So here is me shooting!  notice the pink ear things.  it made me laugh!
Well, kind of all over the place, but can you see I almost got a bulls eye?  Surprise!
This is Bruce's shots.  pretty good!
Me again, only one bullet off target.  Sorry to say the target didn't make it.  It was fun.  I did a lot better than I thought I would.  I would go again.

So it was a different sort of Valentines.  But we were together, and that is what counts.  Love you sweetie!

Hope your Valentines was special for you....

hugs...

Happy Valentine's!

Hi everyone!  today is the day of love and I am so happy to spend this evening with my true love - Batman!  he is a keeper for sure.

This week I mad 8 heart shaped potholders!  they were fun, easy, and all from the stash.  didn't have to buy a thing!  I found the tutorial HERE .  The instructions are great and easy to follow.  took one afternoon to decide on the fabric, cut, sew, and press!  the only thing I didn't do was the top stitching on the last step.

The 8th one did not get added to the picture, sorry, but it is done!  promise!

I hope you all have a wonderful day today.  Enjoy and eat lots of chocolate!
