My Turn! My Turn! My Turn for All About Me! And a give away!

Hi everyone!  This blog hop has been so much fun!  so many talented quilter's out there.  And now it's my turn!  Yeah!  I have been going back and forth, up and down, and all around on what I want to say about me!  hmmmmm......
First off I have been married to my best friend for almost 38 years.  My goodness!  We have 5 great kids and I have the best daughter in law in the world and 3 wonderful son in laws!  AND, 20 awesome grands!  I love being a grandmother.  Hmmmm, lots of exclamation points.  Do you think I am excited and passionate?  LOL......

I love the color pink; red is next.  My sewing room is pink; my safe haven; my creative spot.  I love wool socks.  My sweet friend Mardi knits them for me.  I have two pair.  I am trying to figure out how I can get her to make me another pair.  I will do almost anything for more wool socks!  Now you are probably thinking - This lady lives in AZ!  it's the desert!  Well, fellow bloggers, I get cold.  it's has hit freezing here this winter.  Don't laugh!  I am a desert rat and this is cold for me!  I sleep with 3 quilts on my bed, lol.....  My hubby sleeps with a sheet....  Here is what it looked like on Wednesday here:

This is 10 miles from my home!  See it does get cold here!

This picture shows several favs for me!  My scissors - thread clips and a 5" pair of scissors.  Both Ginghers; love my scissors.  Next you see a seam ripper from my dear friend Cydni.  it's pretty, it's pink and it gets used, a lot......
Oh and one of my best friends!  My Bernina, love my machine!  It makes me feel like a better sewer.  A better quilter; just better!

Another favorite - my pink glasses!  Love them!  Plus a little bling.  What girl doesn't need a little bling in her life!

A story - a few years ago I worked here.  We had a contest.  We used a pattern from Amy Bradley
Also the designer for our Blog Hop theme.  Well, we had to make a face representing ourselves.  The customers had to guess who was who.  So the above quilt is a younger me!  LOL!

So now here is the OLDER me, MUCH, MUCH, older me!  Even though I had a milestone birthday recently, this new quilt is far, far, far in the future.

I had so much fun making this little quilt.  I used my favorite 30's fabric - all from stash.  I used muslin for the center.  I LOVE using muslin.  I had to add pearls.  I love pearls.  I have 5 different strands of pearls.  I just love them.  A little bling here and there.  And of course a scalloped border.  ahhhhh, love it.

Well, you now know a few things that make me happy.  So thrilled you stopped by.  Thank you Madam Samm for together putting this very interesting blog hop. And thanks to Marlene
for keeping us on our toes and keeping us updated.  This has been a really fun experience for my first time.  And a super BIG thanks to Amy Bradley for providing the pattern!

****I just found out that my links were not working earlier.  So sorry!  please go to Madam Samm or Marlene's blogs to get the earlier links.  you don't want to miss any of the earlier quilts.  They have been GREAT!

OK, now for the give away!  My very first give away!  I love to find labels.  Pretty, interesting labels.  Well, I hit the jackpot!  PINK labels!  Oh my heart be still.....

This photo only shows half the panel.  So there is about 18 labels.  They are sooo pretty.  Now all you have to do is leave a comment.  if you would like to follow that will be an extra entry.  Be sure to leave an extra comment to let me know you are following me.  I will have the drawing on Friday, March 1.

Now, here are the rest of the ladies for today.  Be sure and check them out!

  4. I love your applique, Lorene. Sew nice! Both the old and the new you look fabulous. I love the choice of fabrics and the scalloped border. It sure does look cold there. We still have a lot of snow on the ground and another foot in the forecast for the weekend. Somehow the snow looks much colder in the desert, though. Enjoy those wooly socks. I have three quilts on my bed, too.
How blessed you are to have such a large family! It was nice to learn more about you. Thanks for sharing ... :) Pat
