Oh boy! A new project!

I know, I know, another new project.  Vicki and I always inspire each other.  there are so many things we want to get done.

Fat Cat Patterns  has a new free BOM, well almost free.  if you miss a month, you have to pay for it.It is posted for a whole month, so you should have plenty of time to download.   Penguin Cheer.  It is so darn cute!

this is the 2nd month.  Vicki and I have finally prepped January and February's blocks.

Block #1

Block #2

Am I right?  Darn Cute?  Yep, I know....   So glad we are doing this.  Now I just have to do the machine applique part.  shouldn't take too long.  I have all the squares cut for the rest of the BOM.  so it should be pretty easy to do each block.  Vicki and I want to Skype while we are working on the blocks.  Toni and Charlene gave us the idea.  We can sew, visit, and laugh, like a mini retreat for us.

I am making headway with the Spring Blessings quilt, I have 4 rows quilted now.  I am finished  sewing the binding onto a OLD UFO.  Things are coming along......

BOM

Hi everyone! at the shop we have started a new BOM. it is by Pam McMahon. she has her own pattern line - Pieces from the heart. and she lives right by the store, so we get to see her all the time. I LOVE her patterns. the only problem is I want my quilt to be JUST LIKE HERS!!!! so I haven't bought any patterns yet. sigh...... Well, she has designed this new BOM and we are the first to try it out! we get a block each month - I think it's for 13 months..... with the fabric. This is the center of the quilt. I am working on block #2. I am loving it! thanks Pam for letting me have my cake and eating it too! LOL..... Lorene

A Christmas Wish....

here is the last block I have done for Gail Pan's A Christmas wish. I just love these blocks. so easy to do and FAST!!!!! she has another just listed - the link is on the left hand side of my blog under BOM. With watching Gunner this week, I haven't done any sewing. He is such a curious little guy, that well, we don't want to go there and have something happen! I have just been doing some embroidery for a minute at a time, here and there. when he leaves in the early evening, well, Grandma is too pooped to do anything else! Good news though, Bruce comes home tonight! This time was Palestine, TX. Hope he doesn't have to do much traveling for a while....

I'm back!

Hey everyone, we got back safe and sound. we had lots of fun at Quilter's Outpost. we got quite a bit done on our blocks. we both are doing hand stitching.
afterwards we went to a little scrapbook store - WOW!!! next time - bring money. awesome store. then to scoops for ice cream - YUMMO!! the drive was beautiful, relaxing and the weather was perfect!!!! what made it fun was Cyndi brought her Bruce's little red car!

as we were coming down the hill - we were going just a little fast, not bad! a business plumbing van zoomed past us. we both laughed and said he is going to get a ticket. Yep, just a mile or so down the road, Mr. Sherriff was waiting just for him. bummer.... we are just glad it wasn't us!
